A moment of sadness rang across Beaverdam Thursday afternoon, as the town hall building was demolished.
Thelma Cockrell said "It was sad to see such an old building go".
The town hall building was originally completed in 1890, making it just over 120 years old. Since then, the structure has seen a lot.
It was no longer structurally sound, forcing the village to tear it down.
Annie Palte said "It was sad to see it go, but it was in bad shape and really needed to be tore down".
The village breaks ground on a new administration building in September.
