Celebrating 48 years, the Cridersville Fire Department holds it's annual Firemen's Jamboree, and this year's turn out has not disappointed.
This is the fire departments biggest fundraiser of the year, with all of the money from the jamboree helping to offset losses caused by the low taxes the department charges for its services.
Fire Chief Ron Mertz is happy to see the large turnout, but says its not about the money. The jamboree is for Cridersville and its people.
With the 50th anniversary just two years away, Chief Mertz says the fire department has some surprises up its sleeve, but says residents will have to wait to find out.
