A Spencerville man arrested for a Mercer County home invasion case has avoided trial on an unrelated charge in Allen County.
A sentencing date of August 15th was set for Joshua Moreo before Allen County Common Pleas Judge Richard Warren.
As part of a plea deal, moreo pleaded guilty to forgery and theft from an elderly person with the state dropping a charge of receiving stolen property.
He is accused of stealing at least one check from his grandfather in Spencerville. He could get between one and two and a half years behind bars in this case.
Moreo also is still awaiting court time in Mercer County for a home invasion case near Mendon back in February.
He is expected to be indicted for his role in the robbing of Kathy Fair and her elderly father William Fair and threatening to kill them.
