Beaverdam, Ohio -
A semi tractor trailer driver is unhurt after his rig catches fire early this morning.
The accident happened around 5:15 am on the north bound ramp at Beaverdam along I-75. The exit remains closed as crews clean up the 41,000 pounds of tide laundry detergent the truck was transporting.
Troopers say the truck driver noticed that his back axel was on fire and immediately got out and disconnected the trailer from the tractor.
The trailer was fully engulfed in flames as crews arrived on scene.
The driver, from California, had just picked up the load of tide from a Lima warehouse.
The incident remains under investigation.
Beaverdam Fire Department and the Allen County EMA assisted on scene.
