Rain was a welcomed sight to the region Wednesday afternoon, however residents of Lima could have done with out the damaging wind and lightning.
Lisa Kraft said "My family and I were just getting ready for dinner and we were like, oh no power out again, not another storm."
A substation was the main culprit of the power outages Wednesday afternoon, causing just over 1200 Lima residents to be without power. A power pole near Simmons Field was also struck by lightning, causing an additional 9 customers to loose power for a few hours. When the YMCA lost power it brought flashbacks of late June when they were with out power for days.
Aquatics Director Jennifer Parker said "They reviewed their power outage procedures after the last storms, so we were ready for today."
The YMCA reopened once power was restored and According to AEP Ohio all power was restored to Allen county by 8pm Wednesday evening.
