Lima Ohio -
Lima's Safety Services Committee meeting Tuesday night to discuss one topic, city parking. Committee members took questions and listened to business owners as they discussed handicapped parking, media passes and current city ordinances.
Downtown business owners voiced concerns about people parking in front of their businesses, and argued giving out media and city parking passes would only worsen the situation.
Many parking problems stem from current ordinances that were created based on a 1993 study. Committee members now realize that much of the city's parking has changed over the past 19 years, yet the city ordinances have remained the same.
After one hour of discussion between committee members and residents, the Safety Services Committee decided to table discussion until next week, when Derry Glenn says they will have more information and will be able to make better informed decisions.
