LIMA, OHIO -
There may be a silver lining to this summer's scorching temperatures.
Lima's two main watering holes have seen a nice boost in attendance, especially early in the season.
Officials at both Schoonover Pool and Johnny Appleseed Park Beach say they have been very busy this summer.
They've seen a nice mix of the typical daily visitors out for a few hours of fun in the water but have also noticed a growing number of people who truly just want to cool off as the temperature rises.
Brett Roehm of the Lima Parks Department says June of last year saw just over a thousand visitors at Schoonover Pool....that number was closer to three thousand in June of this year.
Things have slowed down though at both sites as people try to squeeze in last-minute vacations and get busy with sports-related activities.
