ADA, OHIO -
While some think the negative campaign ads are harmless others wish the personal attacks would just go away.
A new poll conducted by NBC news and the Wall Street Journal indicate people hold a less favorable view of each candidate following a heightened level of negative ads. However, one expert says not all negative ads are turning off voters.
"A negative add that actually talks about one's voting record, their past actions policy wise is fair game. A negative add that is talking about one's celebrity in Obama's case or their inability to carry a tune as in Romney's case is seen as unfair. And those are the ads that really just disgust voters," said ONU Political Science Professor Robert Alexander.
As negative as the ads have been so far, Alexander says superpacs will bring the negativity to a whole other level.
