Something for the whole family in Celina this weekend at the annual Celina lake festival. With hundreds of people making their way through town, business owners are extremely happy.
Three years ago, Kim Nation decided to open up a coffee shop on Main Street, calling it Java Nation. Business is going well for Kim, and weekend events like the Lake Festival, help to boost sales.
This weekend's festival has a long and successful history, something event organizers are proud to bring back for the residents. After 51 consecutive years, residents have begun to look forward to and plan around Celina's Lake Festival. Also planning around the festival, area businesses who thrive on events like this one, just ask employees of Dawg Town, USA, who took advantage of their Main Street location by bringing part of the store to the people.
Following the Celina Lake Festival, area businesses usually get ready for the Governors Cup Regatta Boat races in August. Unfortunately, due to low lake levels, the races were canceled, forcing business owners to make the most out of this weekend's activities.
Businesses will continue to thrive tomorrow as the Lake Festival continues with food, rides, tractor pulls and a children's fishing derby.
