Benefit Concert for Destroyed Ada Church

A fundraiser Saturday for a church in Ada, destroyed by fire more than four months ago.

The Voices of Ohio choir took the stage at the Ada school building in an effort to help fund the rebuilding of the First United Methodist Church.

That church was destroyed by fire back on March 13th.

Since then, two committees have formed, a vision committee which will look at the role of the church for the next one hundred years, and a building committee which will look at where the rebuilt church should go.

Pastor Mary Jo Yeakel says she's appreciative of the community support their church has received since the fire.

Two members of the Voices of Ohio choir, Melanie Woods and Michele Elliot are also members of the church and helped make tonight's benefit concert in Ada possible.
