
Ohio's first case of the West Nile virus infecting a person comes from Clermont county.
That person is only identified as an 85 year old man.
Allen county does not test for mosquitos anymore due to budget constraints... but in those areas that are testing for West Nile they are finding a higher percentage of the mosquitoes captured carry the disease.
Bill Kelly with the Allen County Department of Health says there are some things you can do to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds like getting rid of standing water in your gutters and downspouts, your birdbath or ornamental pond.
The Ohio Department of Health reports that so far this year, 374 mosquito pools have tested positive for West Nile virus.
