Hardin County -
Regional leaders in government, business and education met at Ohio Northern University for a special purpose today.
The focus of the gathering was to discuss how each entity can strengthen the Ohio workforce. A speaker from the Ohio Department of Development did address the crowd, but leaders spent most of the time in groups, forging new partnerships and talking about issues hampering regional economic development.
"The whole focus was to bring everybody together. Enlighten everybody so businesses and education know what each other's doing. And the ultimate result is to improve our workforce development of our community," said Allen County Chamber of Commerce President Jed Metzger.
The gathering was called the Northwest Ohio Workforce Regional Rally: "Mapping Success, Driving Partnerships." It was sponsored by the Ohio College Access Network.
