LIMA, OHIO -
The past president of a parent, teacher society in Lima is sentenced to greatly reduced charges as negotiated by a plea deal.
45 year old Darrell Boedicker receiving two years of probation for two counts of misdemeanor sexual imposition. The charges were reduced from felonies of the third degree. Boedicker, who used to be the president of the Heritage Elementary Parent, Teachers, Student Organization, is accused of inappropriately touching a child on top of the clothes.
During the hearing, attorneys said Boedicker was confronted about the attention he was paying to the child. He, then told a friend who works at children services about the inappropriate contact and thoughts. Judge Richard Warren says the situation was unusual. He was given the deal because Boedicker quickly sought counseling before the situation escalated.
Family members of the victim agreed to the sentence. Boedicker was also sentenced to 120 days in jail, but the sentence was suspended as long as he follows the conditions of his probation. He must also register as a sex offender.
