WAPAKONETA, OH -
A competition at the Auglaize County Fair brought back shades of the old west Friday.
The Junior Fair Horse Roping Show saw competitors between the ages of 9 and 19 hoping their lasso hit its target.
The kids were judged on everything from how their loop looked, how they threw it, and of course, whether they hit their target.
Different strategies were used but all agreed that it was a little nerve-racking trying to rope the fake calf three times in a row as a judge looked on.
But they say it was all about focusing on the target.
