A fiery crash on the interstate kills one person overnight. A wrong way driver on Interstate 75 is killed when his truck crashes into a semi. Around 12:55 this morning the highway patrol started getting calls about a pickup truck traveling south in the northbound lanes.
While troopers looked for the driver, the truck crashed into a semi head-on...catching both vehicles on fire. The driver of the semi had minor injuries. The driver of the pickup, 36 year-old Duane Hower of Wapakoneta died in the accident.
Troopers think he died because of the crash, not the fire. The interstate was closed for eight hours while crews cleaned up the scene. Troopers are still trying to figure out why Hower was driving the wrong direction. Deputies in mercer county investigate the drowning of a 20 month old.
Around 9 last night Evan Quinn's parents noticed the baby was missing. Evan had been playing with toys by an above ground pool. The parents were on the patio watching him... But took their eyes off him... And when they looked back Evan was gone. They searched the area and the pool but couldn't find the baby. After about 10 minutes... The Quinn's called 9-1-1 for help.
First responders found evan at the bottom of the pool...which was very murky. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Sheriff Jeff Grey calls Evan's death a tragic accident.
