Lima Ohio -
To date, the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission has invested nearly 10 billion dollars in state and local funds to assist nearly one thousand schools with repairs and rebuilding efforts.
Several local schools have received assistance from the OSFC, including almost all school districts in Putnam County. One problem with the state's assistance program, is schools that are considered to have wealth are unlikely to be selected for renovations or rebuilding. Bath Local Schools falls into that category, and would like to see changes in legislation.
Although Bath Schools has not received funding to renovate the district's schools, they have decided to participate in the Expedited Local Partnership Program, that is seen as a positive effort in the eyes of the OSFC. As part of the program, the district will build the new elementary school with the hope that the OSFC will help build the other schools in the district.
