On Wednesday of this week, the Putnam County Sheriff's deputies along with the Multi Area Narcotics Drug Unit, and Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, spotted and seized 140 marijuana plants from three residential properties in Putnam County. The addresses of these properties have not been released by the Putnam County Sheriff's office.
Using a helicopter from the Butler County Sheriff's office, the plants were spotted and the residents were confronted. Upon collecting the plants, law enforcement also collected growing lights, potting soil and fertilizer, all commonly used for growing.
Considered the largest drug bust of the year in Putnam County, Sheriff James Beutler says this time of year is perfect for aerial drug searches, as growers start to harvest their crops.
The marijuana plants have been put into evidence in an unknown location. At this time, no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
