Senator Brown supports USW Strikers

A U.S. Senator is getting involved in the labor dispute at an Allen county refinery.

Senator Sherrod Brown, going to bat for United Steelworkers Union members that are striking Husky Energy in Lima.  

Senator Brown pledged to do what he could to help.

United Steelworkers Union local 624 president Mike Edelbrock says he appreciates the support the senator has shown in this labor dispute.

Edelbrock says in their most recent talks the company talked about some changes that didn't sit so well with negotiators.

Husky Energy said after negotiations on Tuesday the goal continues to be the long term viability of the refinery and the unions proposals do not do that.

Talks are scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
