It has been in the works for some time, and it was made official today (Aug 15). A locally owned food manufacturer is now owned by its corporate customer.
Bob Evans Farms purchased Kettle Creations. The Gateway Commerce Park operation was purchased for approximately 50 million dollars. In a news release from Bob Evans Farms, it said Kettle's 100 employees, including its management team will remain in place. Nothing is expected to change with the mashed potato and macaroni and cheese making operation.
Allen Economic Development Group President Marcel Wagner says this is not an investment group looking to make a quick profit, it's a longtime, well respected, Ohio-based company that will look to grow. Kettle creations has manufactured side dishes for Bob Evans since 2009. Bob Evans says this purchase will allow them to grow their side dishes product line.
Kettle Creations President Don Klausing says they're excited to join a company with a quality brand that has a rich Ohio heritage.
