Pill Popping Problem

According to the national institute on drug abuse 2-point-4 million Americans are using prescription drugs non-medically.

According to chairmen John Stanovich of the drug abuse prevention task force some of the most commonly abused prescriptions are pain killers like oxycodone and vicodin.

 Stanovich said " that they are a majority of drugs that people start to use then misuse and then abuse and serve as the gateway drugs to more addicting drugs such as heroin.

 Ohio attorney general Mike Dewine was in Springfield Wednesday discussing his drug policy.

Mike Dewine said  "there are drugs everywhere and we just have to fight back"

To combat this on going problem, Precia Stuby says that it starts at home with parents and family members stepping up and not making prescription drugs easily available at home.
