The reconstruction of Spring Street through Lima is nearly complete and two way traffic will begin on September 4th.
One thing motorists who use the road will notice, the double yellow line through a portion of the project, from Main to Jameson, is not a straight line. As you look west on Spring toward Collett, the line directions change a bit. City Engineer Kirk Niemeyer says that had to be done because of parking changes made after input from residents putting parking on both sides of the street, those are the white lined boxes.
As parking will now be on both sides of the road, the bike lane will also bounce from north to south lanes as well. Niemeyer says those transitional changes meet the 'ODOT' location design manual.
