Many of you may know, the fair offers special days honoring certain groups of people in the community. Yesterday it was youth day and tomorrow will be veterans day at the fair. And the special guests at the fair today (Aug 23), are senior citizens.
Area seniors, 60 and over, receive free gate admission all day long. They were also treated to a golden age day party at the gospel tent. The seniors say coming out to the fair is a great way to see old friends and bring back memories of their younger days at the Allen County Fair. 97 year old Marion Waltz was honored with a ribbon as the oldest in attendance at the morning party.
Again we want to remind all those who have served our country, that tomorrow, you will be the guest of honor at the Allen County Fair, as it is veteran's day with free gate admission all day.
