It has become an anticipated tradition at the fair as it winds down and the chance for 4-H participants to loosen up in the show arena. It's the costumed animal contests.
This morning (Aug 23) the Schmidthorst Pavilion was full of equine and their riders showing off their best look. It was the Junior Fair Horse and Pony Costume Class and there were all sorts of characters, from the groovy 60's horse, to the nerdy type. Sports fans were covered by the "Who Dey" Bengal Horse and Barbie gave up the saddle for a pink sports car.
There were 13 contestants in all at today's event. Also today, the swine got a chance to dress up at the best dressed pig contest.
