The fate of the village of Ft. Shawnee will appear on the November ballot after a special meeting of the Allen County Board of Elections. The main order of business was making sure that those leading the petition drive met all of the requirements to get the issue on the ballot. Although this situation has occurred before, it is uncommon. The board met with the Allen County Prosecutor and the Ohio Secretary of State to make sure the proper procedures were followed. Allen County Board of Elections Director Ken Terry says the question as it will appear on the ballot is short, "Shall the village of Ft. Shawnee surrender its corporate power?" Election day is November sixth.
