Three Lima businesses are teaming up to beautify downtown.
The Metokote Corporation, Colonial Surface Solutions, and Lima Powder Coating are working together to improve the look of downtown Lima through the sandblasting and powder coating of tree grates.
The tree grates are made of cast iron and rust when they get wet. So far, the three grates in front of the chamber of commerce building have been improved. However, the companies have committed to improving more than 40 grates in the downtown area.
The companies are also working with the city of lima for the discounted powder coating of some downtown light posts.
Officials for Lima Powder Coating also announced that their business is expanding. Eight to ten new jobs are anticipated when a new building is finished in November.
