Ottawa city council, meeting to discuss future village projects and where the village of Ottawa stands two months after June storms.
With mystery swirling following a letter to the editor, clarification was made about the county-wide levy to purchase and house a ladder truck. The facts are, Ottawa city council approved 100 thousand dollars over the next five years to pay towards a levy to house the fire truck in Ottawa; the levy amounts to 21 dollars a year for residents, or 6 cents a day.
Also being discussed, construction along State Route 65. Two months after June 29th storms tore through the area, President Obama declared the area a disaster area. As a result, Ottawa administrators are now eligible to apply for a federal funding grant, money that the village could use to finish the clean up process.
