Built in 1931, the former Minster Elementary School remains empty. School officials continue their efforts to find a buyer or renter.
Located on the corner of Hanover and Fifth Streets, the school was closed in August of 2011, due to a financial efficiency measure. Students were then moved to new K-6 and 7-12 facilities.
After one year and no interest being made for the $753,000 property, Minster Superintendent Brenda Boeke doesn't want to see the building sit vacant for too long.
The northern annex, which faces Fifth Street was added in 1951; an elevator was installed in 1995; and another renovation project took place in 2003. Boeke says the building is in very good condition, and encourages anyone who is interested in purchasing or renting the building to contact her at 419-268-3397.
