VAN WERT, OHIO -
Local law enforcement is stepping up efforts to target the sale of Heroin.
Auglaize County deputies have made several Heroin-related arrests over the past year and now Van Wert County is taking center stage.
The drug task force covering Allen, Paulding, and Van Wert Counties served three search warrants this week after an investigation targeting the sale of Heroin in two van wert homes.
Task force members say Heroin is definitely a growing problem in the rural areas.
Part of the issue stems from people who were hooked on opiate-based medications like Oxycontin which they can no longer get.
Many have switched to Heroin, meaning their lives begin to spiral downward quickly.
