A Place to Run for Your Pooch

Dog parks in the Grand Lake St. Marys area are in demand. The new two-acre dog park offers a fenced area for dogs to exercise without their leash. Grand Lake Park Manager Brian Miller says he realized the need for a dog park in St. Mary's after hearing of the popularity of Celina's dog park. He says putting one in St. Marys will better serve those living on the East end of the lake.

The park is a partnership between the city of St. Marys and the State of Ohio Parks Division. Pet owners can enjoy the view as their dog plays, as the new park looks over Grand Lake St. Marys.

The park is in its final stage of construction before the dedication ceremony. The dedication date has not been set , but should be within the next few weeks. Once it opens, the new park will be free to the public.
