Thousands of drivers took to the road this weekend with an extra day off on Monday, thanks to Labor Day; as a result, traffic flow was up. With more motorists on the road, State Highway Patrol stayed busy this weekend, catching speeders and drunk drivers.
Thanks to extra funding, patrolmen were able to combat the number of drivers, pulling over more than 500 holiday travelers. Over the weekend, patrols reported 10 OVIs, a few stolen cars and several cases of road rage and aggressive driving.
