Longtime Lima Philanthropist Passes

A long time supporter of music and the community has passed away.

     Virginia Crouse died today at the age of 93 years old.

        Crouse was known for her philanthropy, donating money to various organizations, including the Allen County Museum, Veterans Civic Center and Lima Symphony.   

      Crouse set up an endowment at the United Way in the memory of her husband John.    

     The Crouse Performance Hall was named after her. It is located within the Lima Allen County Veteran's Civic Center.

     She was the first local recipient of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society Honor. Mrs. Crouse leaves behind 4 children.

      Crouse's funeral services will be Monday at 11 o'clock at the market street Presbyterian Church, where she was a long time member.

The viewing will be Sunday from 2 to 8 at the Chiles and Laman Shawnee Chapel.
