Nearly fifty fishermen were out on the Middle Point Quarry this weekend as part of the Van Wert County Sheriff's Department's D.A.R.E. Program.
The quarry is open only two times a year for the fishermen, giving them a chance to catch bluegill, catfish, bass and other game fish.
D.A.R.E. officer Deputy Keith Allen says they expect to raise about one thousand dollars to help the D.A.R.E. Program.
Prize money was 50 dollars per day for the largest fish and total weight of five fish.
