A change in a bus stop location has some Perry Local School District parents upset.
Parents in the Colony mobile home community have had their kids picked up at the community center for years. It is centrally located, is away from the highway and can offer shelter during bad weather. The center is also on private property and kids coming to the center from all directions raised safety concerns with the school district.
The solution was to move the bus stop just off of state route 309. Parents have voiced their concerns over the move. Although he declined to go on camera, Perry School Superintendent Omer Schroeder said that no other buses go on private property, many students are picked up along highways and that bus routes do change. Schroeder says he sees this as a "non issue".
