Wind energy is sweeping through the Van Wert area and creating new benefits for Cooper Farms. Cooper Farms broke ground today on its third wind turbine. The 1.5 mega-watt turbine will provide an additional 25 % of energy to their cooked meats locations. Right now they are the third largest source of wind energy in Ohio. They hope the new turbine will help them save money from electricity costs and invest it into new opportunities. The wind turbine should be up and running by the end of this year.
