Lime, OH -
Using a surplus of vacancies to draw business to the downtown area is the goal of the Lima Allen County Chamber of Commerce and Allen Economic Development Group.
No doubt a down turn in the economy and the shift to shopping malls have hurt the downtown business environment. However, both of these could work in favor of revitalizing the central business district. There are still anchor businesses found downtown. The Chamber and the Economic Development Group are trying to attract young businesses looking to expand to compliment the already established businesses.
Shopping malls are copying the model of many stores within walking distance, something downtown Lima already has. The downtown also has the advantage of mixed use properties. With retail on the ground floor and office support or residential space on the upper floors.
