The cold weather is just a few weeks away, and some people might be in need of that winter coat that's been sitting in your closet for years. The Lima Salvation Army is now collecting new or gently used coats for their annual "Coast for Families" program.
People are encouraged to drop their coats off at the salvation army located across from the high school, or at several drop off locations scatted throughout Lima. Commanding Officer Major Phil Tamayo says they are expecting plenty of people looking for ways to stay warm that they may not otherwise be able to afford.
Collection boxes will be open until October 5th and coats will be distributed at the Salvation Army October 12th.
