Lima Ohio -
Lima's school board meeting Tuesday night at Lima South Middle School. Superintendent Jill Ackerman recommended the board's approval of the state mandated Third Grade Reading Guarantee Policy. After a short discussion, the board voted to adopt the policy that requires schools to hold back third graders who do not meet the recommended reading level.
Superintendent Ackerman says Tuesday's vote was just part of a process that they are already prepared for. Ackerman and the board continue to ask voters to support the school's levy that will be on the ballot in November.
