Plans are underway for a dog park for Wapakoneta.
The park would be located on city owned property on Herbstritt Ct. on Wapakoneta's west side... south of the wastewater treatment plant and north of Auglaize street.
Boy scout Travis Rohrbach and others want to develop the park.
Rohrbach is using the experience as his Eagle Scout project.
Wapakoneta safety services director Bill Rains says the property is well suited for a dog park with the area already enclosed by a fence.
Organizers are collecting money to help with extras for the dog park, like benches.
If everything goes as planned the dog park could be open by next summer.
