Another big decision coming up for United Steelworkers local 624 members. Husky Energy and the union meet for about 4 hours Friday.
Late in that meeting, union president Mike Edelbrock says the company presented another "last and final settlement offer".
Edelbrock says the offer does not address the unions last proposal or their issues.
He says union workers will still return to work on Monday, but to give the workers, who've been off the job more than 4 months, time to get acclimated to their job, the two sides will not talk again until October 22nd. During that time, the union will review Husky's offer and talk about it with union members at a meeting next Wednesday. Edelbrock says at this point there is no vote on the offer planned. Husky spokesman Mel Duvall says they have prepared for a smooth , safe and orderly return of their workers on Monday which includes a transition of some duties. He says the two sides will talk again in a couple of weeks.
