The village of Ottawa is getting out of the leaf pickup business.
Starting this year, that service won't be available for village residents.
A manpower shortage is partially to blame as one person in the street department is on medical leave, but the main reason is the lack of leaf pickup equipment.
Some of that equipment was sold recently.

Residents can take their leaves to the village garage for disposal.
There is no charge to drop off their leaves.
