The Centers for Disease Control, recommends that anyone over six months of age should get the vaccine. However, getting the shot is even more important for older adults.
According to the CDC, during a regular flu season, 90 percent of flu related deaths occur in people who are 65 and older. A typical flu season can start as early as October and last through May.
