Findlay Turns Down 2-1-1 Service Due to Budget

Posted: Updated:
Findlay -

Its as simple as dialing 2-1-1, and residents can receive help and information following a disaster. At a Findlay budget appropriation meeting on Tuesday, Beverly Phillips with the United Way asked the city of Findlay to buy into the 2-1-1 calling program, a $6,000 cost.

Just five years ago, Findlay residents found themselves under water following the floods of 2007. The 2-1-1 program could have been beneficial for residents and the city.

Administrators were excited to hear about the additions to the program, but one problem stands in the way, the city of Findlay is already fighting an uphill battle with finances.

Council tabled the idea until closer to the election, but that isn't stopping Beverly Phillips from pushing forward.
