LIMA, OHIO -
Area residents encouraging others to research their family trees.
Lima's mayor David Berger can now go through pages and pages of his family history thanks to the Lima Family History Center. The center is affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lima where area residents can go to research their own history. Genealogists presented the mayor with information dating back six generations.
Researchers used items such as newspaper clippings, birth records, and census data to compile the Berger family history.
Members of the center can help others find out about their own genealogy. October 13th, a seminar will be held at the Lima Family History Center located at 1195 Brower Road. Topics include cemetery research, German records, and family history technology. For more information and to register go to www.familyhistoryseminar.com.
