Area motorists are getting a break at the pumps, as filling up the tank is getting cheaper.
The price for a gallon of gas dropped to as low as $3.31, well under the national average of $3.77 which is down 11 cents from a month ago. According to the AAA auto club, retail gasoline prices have drifted lower in October while crude oil prices have remained relatively flat in the mid 90 dollar a barrel range.
Unfortunately, the flat crude oil prices has been outweighed by regional gasoline supply and distribution issues showing that price relief at the pumps vary dramatically by region.
