Area business leaders learn how to stay compliant with the health care reform law.
The Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce hosting a seminar put on by area insurance and medical officials about the health care reform timeline. About 110 people, mostly from small businesses, were shown information about health care exchanges, summary benefit coverage, and W2 reporting requirements.
"There are some key milestones coming up in 2013. Today's really to make sure that the small business owner is prepared for those changes," said Bob Armstrong, chief operating officer of Lima Memorial Health System.
While small business professionals are working to keep up with the changes, hospitals and medical providers are doing the same on their end.
John Renner, V.P. of St. Rita's Health Partners says in the past medical center focused on treating the ill. The focus now is keeping people well.
Health care reform passed in 2009. The first round of changes were implemented in 2010.
