Family Friendly Scares

Van Wert's Community Club made some changes to Hiestands Haunted Woods this year, and on Saturday, they offered a family friendly "Kids Day." For a small fee, families made their way through the nearby woods, decorated in various themes, with candy for the kids.

Sponsored by Van Wert County's Community Club and D.A.R.E program, parents brought their kids to the woods for some small scares and family friendly Halloween fun. D.A.R.E officer Keith Allen enjoys weekends at the haunted woods, happy to provide a safe and fun environment for residents.

Hiestands Haunted Woods will remain open Friday and Saturday nights throughout the month of October.
