Open house at ACSO

Area residents getting a chance to tour the offices of the Allen County Sheriff today.

The rare opportunity gave people a look behind the scenes and hopefully left them with a better understanding of how the department operates.

There were tours of the sheriffs office along with displays of various pieces of equipment used by deputies and the emergency management agency.

The highlight of the tour was the newly renovated dispatch center.

There are about 150 people employed by the sheriffs' department doing anything from working in the jail to working on the road as a deputy.
