The Wilshire Place housing complex got a make-over and today community members celebrated its grand re-opening.
The affordable housing complex was built over 30 years ago and consists of 40 family style apartments. The units are available to prospective residents who earn up to 60 percent of the area median income. The updated housing is thought to be a re-investment in the community.
Many local organizations, financial institutions, and government leaders played a part in the development. Ron Burson, President of Gorsuch Management believes this is a great example of a public-private partnership.
All the units have been updated with new cabinets, flooring and appliances. A community room and laundry room have also been expanded.
