Hundreds of people got rid of unused or unwanted prescription medications today in Lima.
Over at Allen County Children Services a slow but steady stream of traffic stopped by to drop off not only prescription but over the counter medications.
Inside, students from the University of Findlay's College of Pharmacy helped catalog and dispose of the drugs.
The National Survey on Drug Use and Health found that 2 point 4 million Americans start abusing prescription drugs each year...and about a third of them are teenagers.
Today's drug drop off was an effort between Allen County Children Services, Ray's Supermarkets, Health Partners of Western Ohio, the Lima Police Department, the Allen County Sheriff's Department, Rader Environmental and the University of Findlay College of Pharmacy.
