As of Friday, all Lima area Rays Supermarkets have closed their pharmacies, transferring their customers to the Walgreens pharmacy nearest the customer's previous Rays pharmacy location.
Walgreens supervisor Ryan Wagner says they are prepared to help all Rays' pharmacy customers make the transition.
The closure of the pharmacies came about very quickly according to Annette Hoeffel the director of marketing for Rays Supermarkets. Hoeffel says it's a mater of profitability and what's best for the company. Rays is focusing on the grocery store and intends to bring in new food services in the coming months.
Rays pharmacies were a part of the Lima community for more than 20 years.
